We were car camping here. The folks running this place were amazing! Helpful, kind, and just abundantly nice. Beautiful pool, clean restrooms and showers. Our campsite was well kept and they served biscuits and gravy in the morning! Yay! Cute place.

Stayed overnight Labor Day weekend Saturday night 2024: We really enjoyed our overnight stay here and will add it to our favorites. We have a 45’ 5th Wheel and I was a little concerned about some of the reviews that mentioned it was a little tight maneuvering around the park but we had no problem. We got in around 7 pm and check-in was a breeze. We still had some light and a nice young lady guided us into our site on her golf cart. The site had two septic connections which is great since we are so long. All the connections were in good condition and the site was level gravel. All sites have grass & a picnic table. Camp K9 was grassy with no stickers, fenced, clean and stocked with big job bags and had cute red lights at night that threw off just the right amount of light. The store was nicely stocked with staples and local crafts and from Memorial Day to Labor Day they offer Ice Cream daily from 5 pm - 7:30 pm & on Friday - Sunday mornings from 8-10 they offer biscuits & gravy or sausage biscuit, which is a nice touch. We had some business to do in the morning and requested a late check out and that was no problem so we really appreciated the flexibility.

This place is a great stopping point if you’re driving across Kansas. The people running it are kind and helpful. The RV sites are basic but have all the hooks ups. The restrooms and showers are clean and comfortable. We have three boys under the age of 14, so the pool and playground were a great way to wind down after a full day of driving.

Couples cabin was the cutest. Very comfortable bed. Slept so good. Heat and ac was nice. Tons of channels on TV. Complimentary water in fridge was great. Pool was awesome. Showers so nice and clean with lots of pressure. Very quiet campground. So nice.

Great place to stop for the night when traveling east or west. It is easily accessible off the highway. Staff are very helpful. There is a nice pool, a dog park on site and a city dog park less than 1/2 mile away. The town of Wakeeney is nearby. Best thing to do here is watch the beautiful sunset as you dream about your trip.

We were traveling westbound and this KOA Journey was right off the freeway. The sites are level and the entire facility is clean and well kept. There is a lovely area to walk your pet and see the farmlands. I would recommend this KOA campground.

Easy on/off location. Friendly staff. Clean facility. We booked a cabin for the night to get off the road on our trip home. WOW were we surprised when we opened the door to the couples cabin! It was fabulous! After 9 days of traveling/vacationing this little gem was so needed. A nice queen size comfortable bed with linens and clean fresh nice towels. This place will get marked as a favorite for sure. It is a couples cabin, no pets, so will have to be a special getaway for us since we normally travel with pups. But I think it would be worth it! Additionally, the pool looked enjoyable. The bathroom was big and clean and had hot water and great water pressure.

Great stop! We had three nights here. Close to 70 but we never heard traffic. Ice cream social was a wonderful treat after a long drive. Owners and staff are polite and helpful!

It’s been 10+ years since the last time we stayed at the WaKenney KOA. It’s had a complete face lift. The campground was mowed and the owners & staff were friendly. The swimming pool looked great and the laundry services were clean. Very nice. We live in Hays and wanted to get away for a couple days with the camper so glad we did just that. Oh and on the weekends the biscuits and gravy they serve are amazing. Thanks again for a great stay.. Myrietta & Curtis
