While returning home on a road trip to Key West from Colorado in early April 2022, we stayed at this KOA for 1 night. The wind was blowing gangbusters making driving very challenging on the interstate, so we decided to stop here. The staff was friendly. The restrooms clean and warm and the showers hot. The location is right next to I-70, but the traffic noise wasn’t too bad.

John and Darla, the new owners, were fabulous. We arrived later than expected and they stayed to be sure they could get us in a space, and make us feel comfortable. They even re-opened the store after hours so we could get something to drink. The campground was immaculate, and I really wish we could have stayed more than 1 night to see and enjoy all of the changes they have made. We will definitely return in the future. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at the Wakeeney KOA. We booked for two nights on our way from NC to CO and we liked this place so much we decided to stay a third night. The pool, pool lounge area, restrooms, showers and enclosed dog park were impeccably clean. This KOA far exceeded our expectations. On top of that, Layton and his sister Darla were some of the most pleasant and kind-hearted people I’ve ever met. They were very helpful and accommodating. We will stay here again! Can’t wait!
